Alinghi SUI-100 winner of the AC 2007
After SUI-100 won the AC 2007 many expected
that she carries the last IACC sail number, racing in
an America’s Cup. Ernesto Bertarelli proposed a new
mono-hull class AC90 which was not enthusiastically
accepted.
The reason might be that the not so very rich teams
were depending on the second-hand boats market to
start in the Cup at acceptable costs.
But the situation changed after the AC 2010 in favour
of catamarans anyhow.
No. 101 was given to the German Racing Team, as
they had finished a new mould, but they stopped the
construction very soon afterwards.
Many of the 100 IACC yachts were just trial boats or
have not been finished as SLO-4/1992. Number 13
was not issued to a team.
After SUI-100 won the AC2007 many expected
that she carries the last IACC sail number racing
in an America’s Cup.

No. 69 has been refused by the British challengers as a sexism symbol, but was accepted
by the French team without any problem.
The number stays with the yachts, but the country codes change with a new registration.
